Audrey Hepburn is the ultimate style icon; she was the most stylish woman of all time. I was watching My Fair Lady today (which is one of my top ten favourite movies). I was flipping through a book I bought a while ago- Absolutely Fabulous: Architecture and Fashion. Here are my top four stores out of this book that I think are ‘Absolutely fabulous’.

This photo was taken on the way to a 21st I went to on Saturday. It was a 1950s theme party but rather than go out looking like I stepped off the set of Grease (complete with a poodle skirt), I decided to take a more contemporary approach to the 1950s. I found these high waisted shorts at Jay-Jays surprisingly, and I think they are going be a great addition to my summer wardrobe.

Visited Duncan Yard after class. I really enjoyed roaming through the teeny tiny buildings filled with unusual bits and pieces, delicious food and antiques.

This is my favorite shop in Duncan Yard- MG Design Box. The shop is overflowing with weird and wonderful trinkets.

Mmmmmmmmmm Yummy… Also enjoyed a fabulous meal at Papas.

Vintage stores are hard to find in Gauteng, however, if you’re looking for a truly spectacular vintage store, filled with treasures and trinkets, look no further than Deer Hunter.


This gem is situated in Green Side (135 Greenway Road). Found a cool pair of wayfarers there a couple of weeks ago. You can also be sure to find remarkable vinyl’s for sale from Jackson to Zeppelin. Do yourself a favour and check it out ASAP!

Sunday shopping in Sandton...

Spent the day at Sandton City. Almost got conned into buying a fake Jimmy Choo bag- should have known it was too good to be true at that price!!!

Bought some yummy Handmade Belgian chocolates at Geldof.. There was nothing fake about these scrumptious delights.

Also bought this shirt from Robot.. Now all we need is a little bit of Summer.

I found these Vogue magazines on one of my recent trips to the Menlyn Charity store. They’re from the late 80s and early 90s as you can probably judge from the covers- and they’re still in great condition. I really enjoy reading the articles and they provide excellent sources of reference when it comes to assignments. I’ve become a collector of sorts and can’t wait to add these to my ever expanding collection.
